Hiroshima and Miyajima area have an extreamly extensive and high quality city tram(streetcar)network, which is operated by Hiroshima Electric Railway Company(Hiroshima Dentetsu), so called “Hiroden” for short.
It is not a fast but reliable and comfortable way of getting around these area.
The trams themselves are a mix of old rattle traps and sleek, new “Green Mover” series, although they all run on the same lines for the same fare.
As some of the tram were brought from not only Japanese other cities but also German cities, you could understand why “Hiroden” is called a “Moving Museum”.
You should keep in your mind that the four streetcars can survive the WW2, and two of them are still in opearation as of Hiroden 651 and 652.
